Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression, And Adolescent Females: Recent Research

A number of studies in recent years have looked into the impact of ADHD on the lives of teen females. MRI studies report that the teen brain is rapidly maturing, but is not fully mature until the early twenties in females, and perhaps the early thirties in men. Long-term research on behavior and emotional health report that females with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder may struggle through the teen years. And other studies report that depression is common among teens with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and is so common among teen students that the use of medications for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, antidepressants, anti-psychotics, and even sleep medications, is up sharply with teen
